Disregarding Killer Instinct, its hard to deny that there are any decent fighting games out on the next gen. It seems that NetherRealm’s has struck gold with their gory fighting game Mortal Kombat X as the game has enjoyed its biggest ever launch for a Mortal Kombat game in UK.
Excluding downloads, 61 per cent of physical sales went to the PlayStation 4 version, Chart-Track reports, with 38 per cent on Xbox One and one per cent on PC.
Mortal Kombat series have been around for 23-years and these finding are extremely shocking. In addition to its UK sales success according to the UK sales monitor Chart-Track Mortal Kombat X has been identified as the UK’s second-fastest selling release of 2015 so far with EA’s Battlefield Hardline topping the charts.
Here is a break down of the charts for 2015 of biggest selling games
The full top ten follows:
1 Mortal Kombat X
2 Grand Theft Auto V
3 Battlefield Hardline
4 FIFA 15
6 Far Cry 4
7 Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
8 Minecraft Xbox Edition
9 Minecraft PlayStation Edition
10 Dying Light
Don’t get me wrong Mortal Kombat X is a really cool game and it’s been the first time that I feel a mortal Kombat game has had some good momentum behind it before its launch date. Yet again I don’t know if it’s down to us fighting fans waiting for that great Fighting game to touch the next gen. I don’t want to take anything away from the success Mortal Kombat X has had but all I want to know if we will still be fully engaged into the game come the 26th of May when Street Fight IV is launched on the PS4.
