There is simply no doubt that one of the most dominant and dominating of games console on the planet today is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and has been caught everywhere from living rooms to shelves. It is a role-playing action video game by Polish video game developer CD Projekt RED. It was announced last February 2013 and released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows on 19 May 2015.
Since its arrival last month, The Witcher 3 has received universal compliments. In fact, it currently boasts ratings above 90% on PC, PS4, and XBox One platforms with the Xbox One version as the lowest. Apparently, critical commendation doesn’t always mean sales. Did you remember the first person shooting game, Bulletstorm? But The Witcher proved it wrong. Since it sold four million copies in just two weeks, the developer can safely proclaim that The Witcher 3 is doing very well. In fact, they posted an open letter to their fans via the official website. The team has expressed their gratefulness to the fans for their love and support. They are labelled the situation as a dream come true.
The figures are very much impressive. The most recent Witcher had received 1.5 million pre-orders, making it as a best-selling video-game in the U.K. as of May. The game’s predecessor has also reached swift success making things even more apparent. By May 2012, it sold 1.7 million copies, still below the figures of Witcher 3.
Take note that there is more Witcher 3 to come. In October 2015, the “Hearts of Stone” is expected to release. The Blood and Wine, which is set out in 2016 will be the second expansion. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is currently available for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
